getting_lost_obsoleteblog-1Ever feel like you can achieve more in life but there are some invisible forces holding you back?

If your answer is yes, you’re not alone, especially when you’re an entrepreneur or a business owner.

Fortunately, these invisible forces are just plainly your mind holding back through various means, and can be removed once you figure out the root causes of them.

Here are two more root causes that prevent an entrepreneur from achieving their goals and succeed, along with suggested solutions for each of them.

Indecisiveness

Indecisiveness originated from the amount of changes happening around a person.

It was initiated automatically as a protection mechanism for the person against the swift pace & degree of change of today’s society.

We’re living in an increasingly risk-averse culture. However, when you’re in business, it’s impossible for you to live in a safe bubble away from risks 100% of the time. Your indecisiveness will take a toll on your team’s productivity & the executive suite’s effectiveness.

Entrepreneurs must understand that “not making a decision” is a decision itself, and it’s a hugely negative one that will take away their success.

To get out of this hesitant mindset, practice mapping your way from not doing anything to finally making a decision. If you encounter the point of having many options, try to come up with an effective system for narrowing options the quickest way possible.

If you don’t think this is something you can accomplish on your own, ask for help from a trusted business partner, a business advisor, or a business coach.

A Need for Approval

A need for approval can be the most powerful thing pulling a person away from achieving more. When people stuck in this dilemma, it’s like they are a marionette & everybody around them are puppeteers who control their every moves.

The people in this situation can never be satisfied with their results – not because it’s not up to their standards or they’ve not tried hard enough – it’s because they don’t receive a specific reaction that gives them a sense of approval from others around them.

A need for approval takes away one’s freedom to think, act, and make choices.

The person who suffered from this will be worried incessantly about what others thought of them, fearing criticism, and hold themselves back as a result. Many people have experienced this while running their business, leading to them passing or hiding from opportunities where the potential for reward is high, but the possibility for criticism is equally large.

To let go of the need for approval, you must first know how to appreciate yourself first. Strengthen your core foundation so that you feel strong enough to go with what feels right for you. Next, correct yourself wherever you feel the need to hear someone else agreeing with you. You should be checking with yourself about your decisions, and give yourself validation for just being you.
