Feeling stuck - Maverick Mentoring For Business Conducts Business Coaching in Melbourne - Peter BlaschAre you feeling stuck? Sometimes the things we do every day, consciously & subconsciously, is what keep’s us from moving forward & achieve greater results.

Changing yourself to turn away from these destructive factors is certified hard work. However, if you are able to change them, your life as a whole will be benefited immensely.

Below are 3 most common causes why you get stuck.
Also, our suggestions on how to get rid of them.

  1. Living In The Past

It’s hard to enjoy the present & develop any expectations or vision for the future when you’re living in the past. Take a moment and listen to that voice inside your mind once in a while. Amidst your thoughts, is there an “I can’t change”, or “I’ve done it this way”, or “Whose fault is it?” lurking?

These are the thoughts that keep you from moving forward. Another scenario is when you’re so stuck to the glories or successes in the past, so much that you find it hard to continue pursuing opportunities that appear unclear or uncertain.

If you want to become a successful entrepreneur, you should have as little attachment to the past as possible. Of course you should go back to the past once in a while for the lessons & experiences. Then keep your mind in an optimistic state and focus more on the future. Be careful with the words & sentences you use on a daily basis, as those can be the gateway for your mind to subconsciously go back to the old days.

  1. Nit-picking

Let’s be frank: the people who are nit-picking things are usually the worst entrepreneurs. These people will try to meddle in everything. No matter how low a level that task could be. They are too controlling & extremely obsessed with every little details, which make it impossible for them to see the big picture.

This consequently led to them feeling uncomfortable when being asked to broaden their views or consider cause-effect aspects of a problem.

If you’re one of these nit-pickers, it is time to let go of the small things. Visualise in your head various scenarios that could happen if you take a certain course of action, and practice the “what if” scenario thinking” regularly.

  1. Self-reference Issues

Either too much or too little of a thing can be bad for you, especially when it’s self-reference. A lack of balance between individual & the collective good can mess with one’s mind deeply. If you sympathise too much with others, you will unconsciously feel a sense of burden & stress from taking in all of their negative energy. This could potentially lead to mental health problems such as anxiety & depression if they carry on for a long period of time.

On the other hand, those who can’t seem to put themselves in the shoes of others will also experience relationship problems as they can’t assimilate feedback & take everything super personally & seriously.

To get out of this bind, teach yourself how to navigate between different points of view. Imagine what you would feel about a certain situation from various perspectives, and alternate between them to find the common ground & the best solution.
